Is my Khat use normal?

Khat is a stimulant drug that comes from the leaves of the Catha edulis plant. It is commonly used in some parts of East Africa and the Arabian Peninsula. Khat contains a psychoactive compound called cathinone, which produces effects similar to amphetamines.

The commonest indicator of problematic khat use is a persistent desire to use khat or an unsuccessful effort at cutting down. Continued khat use, despite its harmful use and the use of other psycho-stimulants to avoid withdrawal symptoms, is a sign of a problematic level of use. Other important indicators of problematic khat uses are occupational and social impairment as well as craving.

The following screening tool consists of 5 questions. Please choose the answer that best describes your frequency of Khat use and your well-being over the last 30 days. After you complete the screening your score will be displayed followed by an explanation for your score.
